Jeep officially unveiled the 2021 Grand Cherokee L, a new luxury three-rows version of the car.

 

 

At first, its design differs slightly from the Grand Cherokee, the front fascia resembles the Grand Wagoner Concept, with slender and horizontal headlamps, a seven-legged grille, in addition to LED daytime running lights in the upper classes, and from the side, the car definitely looks longer, as it the wheelbase is 3,091 mm long, which means the vehicle is 5,204 mm long, and at the rear, it gets thin rear lights.

Inside, the cabin of the Grand Cherokee L differs significantly from the standard Grand Cherokee, as you get a new control panel that includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen, or an optional 10.1-inch touchscreen, with the latest UConnect 5 infotainment system from the US manufacturer, which supports Apple CarPlay Wirelessly, Android Auto, with 10.3-inch adjustable digital gauges and night vision system.

 

 

Thanks to the extension of the wheelbase and the addition of a third row of seats, the storage space behind the third row becomes 484 liters, which jumps to 1,328 liters when the third row is folded flat, and the second row is also folded flat, and the storage space becomes 2,395 liters.

 

While the car will be available in four grades, the basic one is the Laredo with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with manually adjustable, a six-speaker audio system, a 8.4-inch infotainment system screen, and 18-inch wheels, followed by the Limited category, which comes with leather upholstery, and a heated driver seat that can be adjusted. Eight-way electric, heated second-row seats, nine-speaker Alpine audio system, fog lights, and optional 20-inch wheels.

 

Next comes the Overland category, which gets 20-inch rims as standard, a limited-slip rear differential, and a two-speed transmission to provide the best off-road performance, while the Summit is the most luxurious, and includes cooled front seats with memory and massage. McIntosh 19-speaker audio system, Active Driving Assist and 10.1-inch infotainment system.

 

Engine and Power

 

The Grand Cherokee is available with several options, the main one is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine generating 290 hp and 348 Nm of torque, and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine generates 357 hp and 529 Newton meters of torque. Regardless of which engine customers choose, the car is available as standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard two-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available as an option.

 

The vehicle also features a standard Quadra-Lift Adaptive Air Suspension which in standard mode provides a ground clearance of 211 mm. When Off-Road 1 is enabled, this height increases by 41 mm, then jumps 61 mm in the Off-Road 2 setting. Also, the Aero setting reduces the height by 20 mm compared to the standard setting.

 

For safety, the car is standard with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning system, and lane-keeping assist, among many other systems, all of which are standard on the Summit and are optional or Standard on other grades, while Jeep has yet to announce pricing details for the 2021 Grand Cherokee L.
